Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has secured a sponsorship deal with Mukuru, which becomes the new shirt sponsor for the senior men’s national team across all formats of the game.
The US$300,000 agreement, set to run until December 2025, was signed at Harare Sports Club yesterday. Mukuru’s branding will feature prominently on the front of the national team’s One-Day International, T20I, and Test match jerseys.
ZC Chairperson Tavengwa Mukuhlani, joined by ZC Managing Director Givemore Makoni at the signing ceremony, emphasized the partnership’s significance for the growth of cricket in Zimbabwe. “This collaboration signifies more than just a sponsorship, it represents shared values, a shared vision, and a commitment to the future of cricket in Zimbabwe,” said Mukuhlani.
He added that Mukuru’s support reflects the company’s belief in the team’s talent and the broader potential of Zimbabwean cricket, stating, “Mukuru’s decision to support the national men’s cricket team is a powerful endorsement of the potential and promise that Zimbabwean cricket holds.”
“For players, this sponsorship is more than just a logo on their shirts. It’s a symbol of belief in their talent and potential,” he said.
“It’s a reminder that they carry not only the hopes of a nation but also the support of a trusted partner as they compete on the global stage,” he added.
Mukuru CEO Doug Tate-Knight expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its broader impact. “We are not only announcing a partnership, but also celebrating a common goal. Our mission as a leading financial services provider has been to empower not only customers, but our communities which we are proudly a part of,” he said.
Tate-Knight also noted that the sponsorship extends beyond the Chevrons, representing an investment in Zimbabwe’s cricketing future at all levels, from grassroots development to the international stage.
