The Chennai Super Kings (CSK), one of the most successful franchises in Indian Premier League (IPL) history with five titles, have secured a sponsorship deal with Etihad Airways for the next three IPL seasons, starting in 2025.
Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national airline, recently unveiled a special aircraft themed around CSK, showcasing the team’s logo in bold blue and yellow. The aircraft’s inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi to Chennai on December 12 marked a significant moment for Indian cricket, aviation, and the city of Chennai.
New CSK signings Gurjapneet Singh, Rahul Tripathi, and Vijay Shankar greeted passengers as the special aircraft landed in Chennai. To celebrate the partnership, passengers were treated to sweet treats during the flight.
Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer of Etihad Airways, stated, “It’s perfectly fitting that the first flight of this unique aircraft livery is to the Chennai Super Kings’ home in Chennai, delighting the millions of fans residing in the city. Through this special livery, we are pleased to celebrate our partnership with CSK, as well as demonstrate Etihad’s long-term commitment to the Indian market.”
The Times of India journalist Gaurav Gupta confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that Etihad Airways’ logo will feature prominently on the front of CSK jerseys for the next three IPL seasons, replacing its previous placement on the back. Gupta wrote: “#breaking Etihad Airways is sponsoring the Chennai Super Kings for the next three IPL seasons..starting from IPL-2025..their logo will be on the front of the players’ jerseys…last year it was on the back #IPL2025 #chennaisuperkings.”

CSK has claimed the IPL title five times, tying with Mumbai Indians for the most championships. Their victories came in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023, but they missed the playoffs in 2024.
With Ruturaj Gaikwad leading the team in 2025, CSK has built a strong squad through the IPL 2025 mega auction, aiming to set a new record as the only team to win six IPL titles.
