The Hobart Hurricanes are pleased to announce the re-signing of Nathan Ellis and Macalister Wright for the 2020-21 KFC BBL|10 season.

Nathan Ellis debuted for the Hurricanes in KFC BBL|09 and demonstrated his value when he became the squads go-to death bowler, being one of only four players to play in every game for the season.

The 26-year-old took an impressive 12 wickets with a season best of 3-15, showcasing his ability to be a crucial player in those high-pressure moments.

Macalister Wright will also be re-signing with the Hurricanes after a series of stand-out batting performances in BBL|09 proving just how imperative he is as a member of the squad.

The 22-year-old produced a player of the match performance in his second game for the Hurricanes when he made 70* off 50, following up in his next match with another 64 runs just three days later.

Hobart Hurricanes General Manger Scott Barnes spoke of how exciting it is to be re-signing these two players for the 2020-21 KFC BBL|10 season.

“We’re very pleased to have both Nathan and Mac join the Hurricanes ranks again for the coming season. They’re both very talented players who have shown just how capable they are,” said Barnes.

“Nathan became a dynamic member of the Hurricanes squad with his cool-headed nature in those do or die moments, performing consistently throughout the season.”

“As one of the younger players in the squad Mac has demonstrated a very strong ability with the bat and we have no doubt that he will be able to produce many more stand-out performances.”
