While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to announce Gautam Gambhir’s backroom staff, various reports indicate that Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate are set to join the team.
According to Cricbuzz, both Nayar and ten Doeschate, who were part of the IPL 2024-winning Kolkata Knight Riders setup, are expected to join the Indian team as assistant coaches. Meanwhile, T Dilip, who excelled as a fielding coach under Rahul Dravid, is set to be retained.
Additionally, former South African pacer Morne Morkel is slated to join as the new bowling coach. Morkel previously collaborated with Gambhir during his two-year stint at Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). However, there is some uncertainty about how ten Doeschate will integrate with the Indian team, given his involvement with the Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) in Major League Cricket (MLC).
