Afghanistan National Cricket Team departs for Zimbabwe to feature in three ODIs and as many T20Is against the hosts. The three ODIs which are scheduled to be held from 4th-9th June, are part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, whereas the T20Is (11th-14th June) will count towards the ICC T20I Rankings.

Afghanistan will have a week-long preparation camp before taking on the hosts in the first ODI on 4th June at the Harare Sports Club. They will also play two more ODIs against the same opponents on 6th and 9th June at the same venue respectively. Both teams will then face off each other in three T20Is, which are scheduled to be played on the 11th, 12th, and 14th of June in Harare.

ACB Chairman, Mirwais Ashraf met the national players ahead of their departure and addressed them about the importance of the games. He further added that the team possesses the full support of the nation and the countrymen expect the team to perform well in these competitions.

This will be Afghanistan’s 4th outing at the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League after playing Ireland, the Netherlands and Bangladesh in their first three series in the super league and are currently placed at 5th position in the super league table with 70 points from 9 games.
