ACB: Andy Flower appointed as Afghanistan’s Coaching Consultant for the T20 World Cup 2021

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is the governing body for cricket in Afghanistan. It joined the ICC in 2001, became an associate member in 2013, and a full member in 2017. The ACB is also part of the Asian Cricket Council.

The former Zimbabwe Captain Andy Flower has joined the Afghanistan cricket bubble ahead of starting his consultancy role with the team for the T20 World Cup 2021. 
 
Flower played 63 Test and 213 One Day Internationals matches for Zimbabwe and he also coached the England team from 2009 to 2014, where England lifted the ICC T20 World Cup 2010 in the West Indies. 
 
Since working with England he has become a household name in the franchise coaching world working in IPL, CPL, PSL, T10 and Hundred Ball competitions.
 
The Chairman of Afghanistan Cricket Board Mr. Azizullah Fazli said, “We are delighted that Andy has joined ACB ,Andy has worked with a number of our players in various franchise completions and his vast experience will be very beneficial and useful to help the team in the world cup”.
