ACB CEO, Mr. Naseeb Khan, held a productive meeting with H.E. Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, to discuss strengthening collaborations and developing ACB’s cricket infrastructure in Afghanistan.

The meeting was held on December 12 in Abu Dhabi, where both parties reiterated their commitment to maintaining closer ties between the ACB and ADSC. Discussions also focused on promoting cricket in the region and addressing key challenges faced by the ACB, including infrastructure development, operational support, and long-term growth and development in the country.

Mr. Naseeb Khan emphasized the urgent need to upgrade cricket grounds in Nangarhar, Khost, Kabul, and Kunduz provinces. He also sought ADSC’s assistance with operational matters related to hosting ACB’s home games, the allocation of a dedicated office for the ACB in the UAE, efficient visa issuance for players and staff, and other areas of mutual cooperation.

In response, Mr. Aref Hamad Al Awani assured full support and cooperation, stating that both parties would formalize these commitments through agreements that would be implemented following initial discussions and preliminary arrangements.

Mr. Al Awani also stated that cricket has brought joy and happiness to the Afghan nation and emphasized that the UAE is eager to assist Afghanistan in the development of the game and various other relevant sectors.

Moving forward, the ACB will submit detailed proposals to ADSC leadership to facilitate the implementation of these initiatives and ensure the seamless execution of projects discussed during the meeting.
