The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is the governing body for cricket in Afghanistan. It joined the ICC in 2001, became an associate member in 2013, and a full member in 2017. The ACB is also part of the Asian Cricket Council.

Mr. Mirwais Ashraf, the chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board met the president of the Qatar Cricket Association Mr. Shaikh Abdul Aziz bin Saud Al Sani last week and discussed collaboration and working together to develop cricket in both countries.

Mr. Mirwais Ashraf thanked the Qatar Cricket Association for their cooperation with the Afghan Cricket Board in hosting the Netherlands series, for issuing visas on time, and for staying in Qatar.

Mr. Mirwais Ashraf is optimistic that the Qatar Cricket Association would further assist the ACB in hosting its home games and training camps, providing visas on time and other relevant facilities in the future, and would continue its cooperation with Afghanistan Cricket Board.

Shaikh Abdul Aziz bin Saud Al Sani expressed his gratitude over the first-ever ODI cricket series being played in Qatar and assured Mr. Ashraf that they are ready to facilitate the Afghanistan National team in various fields.
