Following recommendations by ACB chairman Mr. Farhan Yusefzai, and subsequently approved by Patron in-chief, H.E Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, four new board members were introduced today to the Afghanistan Cricket Board replacing four former members.
The new members include the current Minister for Women’s Affairs, Ms.Hasina Safi, Member of Parliament from Kandahar Mr.Rohullah Khanzada, senior advisor to the first vice- president of Afghanistan Mr. Haroon Mir and a senior member of the National team Mohammad Nabi.
The members who were replaced include Minister for Urban Development and Land Mr.Mohammad Jawad Paikar, former Deputy Minister of Industries and Commerce Ms.Kamela Siddiqui, former Minister for Transport Mr. Hamid Tahmasi and former Afghan Ambassador to Islamabad Mr. Shukrullah Atif Mashal.
The ACB Board consists of nine members in total. In addition to the newly introduced members mentioned above, the others include the Board Chairman Mr.Farhan Yusefzai, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mr. Zia-ul-Haq Amarkheil, Senator Ms.Gulalai Noor Safi, former Deputy for Cultural Affairs at the Administrative Office of the President Mr. Faraidoon Elham and business tycoon Mr. Abdul Rahman Alokozay.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is the governing body for cricket in Afghanistan. It joined the ICC in 2001, became an associate member in 2013, and a full member in 2017. The ACB is also part of the Asian Cricket Council.
