Hazratullah Zazai has been ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 due to abdominal and kidney concerns and has subsequently been replaced by Gulbadin Naib in Afghanistan’s squad for the remainder of the event.

Earlier in the tournament, Hazratullah Zazai had sprained his side muscles during a training session and was ruled out of Afghanistan’s next two matches in the event against New Zealand and Ireland, the two games that were washed out due to persistent rain in Melbourne.

He was expected to be available for Afghanistan’s game against Sri Lanka but is reported to have developed pain in his kidney during a training session yesterday.

According to the team’s doctor’s report, Hazrat was taken to the hospital for the necessary scans, which shows small renal calculi and a mild tear in the inter-coastal muscle.

He will be conserved under the supervision of ACB’s medical team but has been ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

Afghanistan Squad has already reached Brisbane and will play Sri Lanka in their 4th game of the event tomorrow.
