The Afghanistan Cricket Board today confirmed the 21-member National U19s squad for the home tri-series against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka that begins on March 12 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Right-Hand top-order Wicket-Keeper batter Noman Shah will lead the 21-member Afghanistan U19 squad in the four-day match against Bangladesh as well as in the home tri-series against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka respectively.

The Selection Committee of the Afghanistan Cricket Board had earlier selected 30 players for the 2nd phase training and preparation camp that lasted for nearly one month in Nangarhar province to prepare the side for the upcoming home tri-series.

Mr. Noor Malikzai, the head of ACB’s Selection Committee, stated at a press conference held this morning in ACB that they have offered enough opportunities for the 30 players, organized multiple intra-squad games in between them, and provided them successive opportunities to prove themselves. He added: “The training camp proved to be very efficient in terms of building different skills & capacities of the players; the coaches worked on each and every game-relevant aspect of the players, which proved very effective in terms of their preparations for the future events”.

The squad includes two players who took part in the last edition of the ACC U19 Asia Cup that was played in UAE in December 2021. Right-hand top order batter Suliman Arabzai & Right-Arm quick Khalil Ahmad were the two players to feature in the UAE event.
