The Afghanistan Cricket Board today confirmed the 14-member National U19s squad for the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2023 that begins on December 8 in Dubai, UAE.
Left-arm Spin Bowling All-rounder Naseer Khan will lead the 14-member Afghanistan U19 squad in the event. The squad also features 4 backup reserve players and two back up reserves as part of ACB’s plans for preparing a strong team for the ICC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2024.
The squad several players who were part of the Afghanistan U19 Squad who played Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in bilateral series as well as featured in a tri-series against the same oppositions.
Afghanistan U19s Squad for the Tri-Series against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka:
Naseer Khan (C), Wafiullah Tarakhil, Jamshid Zadran, Khalid Taniwal, Akram Mohammadzai, Sohail Khan Zurmati, Rahimullah Zurmati, Noman Shah Agha, Mohammad Younus Zadran, Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar, Wahidullah Zadran, Bashir Ahmad Afghan, Faridoon Dawoodzai and Khalil Ahmad.
Reserves: Hizbullah Durrani, Ali Ahmad Nasar, Mohammad Asif & Nasir Hassan
Backup Reserves: Adam Khan Andar and Faheem Qasemi
Afghanistan is pooled in Group A of the competitions alongside the India, Nepal and Pakistan. The team will begin their journey in the event by taking on India U19s on Friday, December 8 at the ICC Academy Oval 1 in Dubai.
