ACB: Raiees Ahmadzai appointed Cricket Director

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is the governing body for cricket in Afghanistan. It joined the ICC in 2001, became an associate member in 2013, and a full member in 2017. The ACB is also part of the Asian Cricket Council.

Senior national coach Raiees Ahmadzai has been appointed as the Cricket Director of Afghanistan Cricket Board replacing Mr. Andy Moles who had served dually as the director Cricket and Chief Selector.

The purpose of the appointment is to strengthen the technical aspect of the game for the national level team, build the capacity of players and to devise and implement plans and policies for the training and development of players.

Mr. Ahmadzai is an experienced national coach who has previously served at various technical positions in ACB including his assignment as the head coach for Afghanistan U19 team.
