Afghanistan Cricket Board’s selection committee announced a 16-member squad that will face Ireland in a series of 3 ODIs later this month in Oman.
ACB selection committee held a press conference today at the head office as they announced the squad for Afghanistan’s first series of 2021 as part of the World ODI league.
Addressung the press conference, ACB’s Director of Cricket Raees Ahmadzai said:” The squad is selected keeping in mind the team balance, future plans as well as physical fitness of the players The squad includes the following players: Asghar Afghan(C), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (WK), Rahmat Shah, Naveen ul haq, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan(VC), Yamin Ahmadzai, Usman Ghani, Azmatullah Omarzai, Gulbadin Naib Sayed Ahmad Shirzad, Javed Ahmadi, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Sharafuddin Ashraf.
Afghanistan is scheduled to face Ireland in three ODIs this January in Oman. The series was scheduled to be held in UAE, however, due to visa issues the series will be held in Oman.
