ACB Acting Chairman Mr. Mirwais Ashraf & the CEO Mr. Naseeb Khan invited former National player Zamir Khan to the ACB to meet him and address his financial problems.
Mr. Mirwais Ashraf praised the services of the left arm spinner Zamir Khan, which he had during his career for the national team & at the domestic circuit. He also promised him that ACB will help him overcome his problems. The latter thanked Mr. Mirwais Ashraf & shown immense pleasure for addressing his problems.
Zamir Khan was a member of Afghanistan’s squad for the 2011 ACC Twenty20 Cup in Nepal, where he made his debut for Afghanistan against Oman. He made five further appearances during the event, including the final against Hong Kong, which Afghanistan won. He took 6 wickets in the tournament at 4.4 runs per over.
He was later selected as part of Afghanistan Squad for the 2012 World Twenty20 Qualifier in UAE, where he played against Denmark & Nepal in T20s and played a T20I against Canada, where he finished with 1/25 out of his four overs. He made his List A debut for Afghanistan A against Zimbabwe A during their tour to Zimbabwe on 29 January 2017. He also made his first-class debut for Speen Ghar Region in the 2017–18 Ahmad Shah Abdali FC Tournament on 1 November 2017 and has featured in 7 FC games so far.
