Off-spinning all-rounder Jemma Barsby has re-signed with the Adelaide Strikers and will be with the Club for at least another two seasons.
Barsby finished equal 10th on the WBBL wicket-taking tally in the Championship-winning WBBL|08, taking a career-high 18 wickets.
It was Barsby’s second WBBL Championship victory, having been part of Brisbane Heat’s WBBL|04 win, before moving down to Adelaide ahead of WBBL|07 and becoming a key member of the side.
Barsby said Adelaide is now home and she was happy to have re-committed with the Club.
“I have loved my last two years at the Strikers, I’m really settled here in Adelaide and being part of the Championship last season with this group was just amazing,” Barsby said.
“I’m really excited to have re-signed and to see what the group can do together as we look to defend our title in WBBL|09.
“I can’t wait to be part of it.”
SACA General Manager, Cricket Tim Nielsen said the Strikers welcomed the re-signing of the reliable spinner.
“Jemma has become an important part of the side since she came to the Strikers and it’s great to have her locked in until the end of WBBL|10,” Nielsen said.
“Her all-round abilities along with her leadership make a big impact on the side and no doubt that will continue to be the case in the upcoming seasons.”
Barsby is the second spinner to re-sign with the Strikers this week, following Wednesday’s announcement that Amanda-Jade Wellington will remain with the Strikers for another three seasons.
