Rashid Khan is set to become the first Striker to take 100 wickets in the Big Bash League, after the Adelaide Strikers secured his services for the seventh consecutive season during the BBL|13 Draft.
The Strikers used a retention pick to secure Rashid, after the Stars selected him with the very first pick in the Draft.
Rashid is the world’s top-ranked T20I bowler and a fan favourite in South Australia – with Rashid loving Adelaide and the fans embracing him just as much.
Since joining the Strikers ahead of the BBL|07 competition, Rashid has played 69 matches for 98 wickets and produced a stack of highlights.
He has best figures of 6-17 in a demolition of Brisbane Heat in 2022, while in 2020 he took an unforgettable hattrick against the Sydney Sixers at Adelaide Oval.
Rashid’s explosive batting is another highlight, with his ability to hit the ball over the rope and claw teams back into games impressive.
Afghanistan’s captain, Rashid plays T20 cricket all over the world and had an outstanding Indian Premier League season, taking 27 wickets to finish second on the wicket-taking tally for the competition, while he also helped MI New York to the inaugural Major League Cricket title in July.
Up to two more overseas teammates will join Rashid at the Strikers during the BBL|13 Draft.
