Adelaide Strikers star Alex Carey has retained his place as vice-captain of the Australian limited-overs squads ahead of the upcoming Qantas Tour of South Africa.

Carey resumes as joint vice-captain of both the ODI and T20I squads alongside Pat Cummins after representing the country in the three-match ODI series in India last month.

The athletic gloveman amassed 391 runs in just 11 innings for the Adelaide Strikers in KFC BBL|09 and became the third Striker to reach the 1000-run milestone for the club in BBL cricket.

Glenn Maxwell, Mitch Marsh, Jhye Richardson and Sean Abbott are inclusions to the national squads for the upcoming tour, which begins with a T20I in Johannesburg on 21 February.

Australia and South Africa will compete in three T20Is and three ODIs as part of the series.

Meanwhile, allrounder Michael Neser has been named in an Australia A squad which will confront the England Lions in a four-day, day-night first-class match at the MCG from February 22.

New South Wales’ Moises Henriques will captain the ‘A’ side.
