Adelaide Strikers have finalised their list for the upcoming Weber WBBL|07 season, with the addition of rising star, Meagan Dixon.
The 24-year-old is a powerful allrounder, who has been honing her craft with the Queensland Fire after rising through the indoor cricket ranks.
The Townsville native moved to Brisbane to focus on cricket, making her state debut for Queensland in 2018.
A talented junior, Dixon has proven herself on the big stage, representing Australia at the 2017 Indoor Cricket World Cup in Dubai.
The right-hander is ready to embrace the challenge and hit the ground running in WBBL|07.
“I’m really excited to be a part of this group. I have watched the Strikers from the outset, and I think I play with very similar values so when given the opportunity to be a part of the group, I jumped at the chance.
A medium pacer who can swing the ball both ways, Dixon is excited to play alongside some of the best bowlers in the league.
“Being able to learn from some of the most experienced bowlers in Megan Schutt, Sarah Coyte and Tahlia McGrath is something I am really excited about.”
Adelaide Strikers Assistant Coach Jude Coleman is confident her fellow Queenslander and former indoor teammate will make an impact in Adelaide.
“Meagan is a great team player but she’s also ultra-competitive and will leave nothing out on the field. She is a big game player, and the type of player in a tough game who you want to have the ball in their hands.”
