Former replacement player, Ryan Gibson has locked away two more seasons in Adelaide ahead of KFC BBL|11.
The 27-year-old signed on as a replacement player for skipper Travis Head last season, quickly making his mark and securing his spot in the side.
A powerful middle-order batsman, Gibson made his debut with Sydney Thunder in BBL|06 before relocating to Adelaide ahead of the 2020-21 season.
His impact in Adelaide was immediate, smacking 205 (from 136 balls) while opening the batting for West Torrens in the first round of the West End Premier Cricket competition.
The right-hander made 10 appearances in the BBL last season, notching up 100 runs and finishing unbeaten in four games.
His inaugural season in blue also brought with it his first Player of the Match nod; reward for finishing 43 not out and banking two catches in the Strikers win over Melbourne Renegades.
For Gibson the opportunity to take centre stage on Adelaide Oval again this summer was an unbeatable opportunity.
“I had an amazing time as a Striker last summer and am really looking forward to getting back out there. To have the opportunity to play at Adelaide Oval in front on the amazing crowd is just incredible. I think we have a team that can do something special in BBL|11 and I can’t wait.”
