The Adelaide Strikers have been forced to make a change to their squad heading to Perth on Thursday, with batter Maddie Penna suffering a quad injury during Sunday’s win over the Brisbane Heat.

Whilst playing a crucial role in the win, Penna strained her left quad and is set to miss a period of the competition, with a return to play date yet to be determined.

Penna dropping out of the squad is the only change.

Squad of 13 for Perth matches: Tahlia McGrath (C), Megan Schutt (VC), Georgia Adams, Jemma Barsby, Danielle Gibson, Katie Mack, Anesu Mushangwe, Courtney Neale, Annie O’Neil, Bridget Patterson (WK), Amanda-Jade Wellington, Ella Wilson, Laura Wolvaardt

Friday afternoon’s match at the WACA is a WBBL|08 Grand Final re-match, with the Strikers taking on the Sydney Sixers for the first time this season.

Ahead of the game beginning at 4:40pm ACDT, Strikers can watch ‘Pretty Bloody Special‘, a behind the scenes documentary into the Championship season, on Fox Cricket Channel 501, from 3:20pm.

On Sunday, the Strikers will play the Perth Scorchers in the first match of First Nations Round, starting at 4:55pm. It will be the first time the Strikers wear their newly designed First Nations shirt.
