The Adelaide Strikers will make their mark in prime time this summer, with the complete KFC BBL|12 fixture released today by Cricket Australia.
The Strikers are set to kick off their season in front of an electrifying home crowd, in what will be a rematch of last summer’s Challenger Final, facing Sydney Sixers at Adelaide Oval.
The last time these two sides met, a final ball thriller saw the Sixers progress to the BBL|11 Final, while the Strikers were heartbreakingly eliminated.
Back-to-back matches against Sydney Thunder follow, first at Sydney Showground Stadium and then on home turf, before the Strikers head north to face Brisbane Heat at the Gabba.
The Strikers clash with the Thunder on December 20 will mark the 500th match in BBL history – a major milestone for the competition and a game not to be missed.
A Boxing Day showdown at Optus Stadium against last season’s champions Perth Scorchers marks the festive period, leading into the biggest night on the BBL calendar, New Year’s Eve at Adelaide Oval.
A hallmark of each season, New Year’s Eve in BBL|12 will see the Melbourne Stars welcomed to Adelaide for the first time on the final night of the year, in a match sure to cue fireworks on and off the field.
The Strikers then fill a fresh calendar with back-to-back clashes against Hobart Hurricanes home and away, a prime time battle against the Renegades and a trip to the MCG to face the Stars.
Rounding out the schedule, the Strikers host two afternoon fixtures against the Heat and Scorchers, a trip to Coffs Harbour to challenge the Sixers and a final matchup with the Renegades at Marvel Stadium.
Host broadcaster Seven will show 45 matches live across the summer, including 10 Strikers fixtures, with every match also broadcast on Foxtel and Kayo.
Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s General Manager of Big Bash Leagues, said:
“The KFC BBL|12 season is setting up to have everything we love about the Big Bash – great players, full stadiums of home fans and the best nights of entertainment anywhere this summer.
“This schedule provides the platform for that, with a mix of world class stadiums and regional venues, opportunities for player participation and all the marquee games that our fans love.
“This, combined with other exciting developments in including the KFC BBL|12 Draft for overseas players, makes us incredibly excited for the season ahead.”
Tickets to all KFC BBL|12 matches will be available via pre-sale on August 16, and available to the public from August 18.
