The Adelaide Strikers have been allocated two matches at Adelaide Oval in December in the first wave of KFC BBL|10 fixture announcements to be made by Cricket Australia today.
They will face the Perth Scorchers on 28 December and on New Year’s Eve – the eighth consecutive season the Strikers have hosted the flagship fixture.
The match-ups, start times and broadcasters for all BBL|10 regular season games have been confirmed, with venues in Tasmania, ACT, Queensland and South Australia locked in for the 21 matches to be played in December.
Adelaide Oval is expected to be allocated more matches in January, understanding that the fixture has an ability to change.
Cricket Australia is committed to delivering BBL content at the BBL’s most attended venue, Adelaide Oval, as long as border restrictions and health authorities’ conditions don’t change for the worse.
The Adelaide Strikers will begin their KFC BBL|10 campaign in a hub in Tasmania before their first match at Adelaide Oval on 28 December.
Venues for matches scheduled in the New Year will be announced in the coming weeks. The League hopes the easing of border restrictions around the country will allow matches to be played in every State throughout the tournament.
The health and safety of players, staff and fans will always remain the number one priority.
SACA Chief Executive Keith Bradshaw said:
“We are delighted to be hosting the annual New Year’s Eve clash which has become the iconic match of the BBL season each year.
“With a match locked in for the 28th December as well and anticipated more matches after the New Year we look forward to hosting SACA Members at the best Big Bash venue in the competition”
All matches will be broadcast live on Foxtel, with the Seven Network airing 18 matches in December live.
