The KFC Big Bash League has announced its intention to return to a full home and away schedule this season, allowing fans to watch their favourite clubs at their traditional homes should public health conditions allow.

And the BBL|11 season will culminate with the Final on Friday, 28 January, ensuring an action-packed summer holidays featuring stars from across Australia and around the world.

The Strikers will face rivals Sydney Thunder on Friday, 31 December at Adelaide Oval, as the New Year’s Eve extravaganza rolls on.

The blue team’s first home game is against Melbourne Renegades on the night of Thursday, 9 December at the beginning of school holidays, with a pre-Christmas bonanza against the Brisbane Heat on 23 December one not to be missed.

Excluding finals, Adelaide’s last home match of the season is against the Sydney Sixers on 18 January, in a massive win for Strikers families.

Adelaide Strikers General Manager, Kate Harkness said:

“We feel that this schedule is an excellent result for our fans and a fantastic return to what is hopefully a full season noting the continued challenges in the world.

“For there to be seven home games all in primetime, and the competition to finish before the end of the school holidays, it really sets the tone for an enthralling Big Bash and one that for me feels like it will take it back to its roots.

“Our playing list for the new season continues to build with the important re-signing of a leader in our bowling attack, Peter Siddle, and we all can’t wait to get back out onto Adelaide Oval in front of the best support in cricket.

“We are indebted to our fans for their support shown last season and throughout our history, and we’re looking forward to putting on a show in BBL|11.”

Cricket Australia’s General Manager of Big Bash Leagues, Alistair Dobson said:

“The KFC BBL is ready to launch into our second decade with a schedule that takes the full allocation of home matches back to fans across the country.

“Like all leagues globally, we remain conscious of the need to be agile in response to the challenges of the pandemic. We are confident that the experience obtained through our successful completion of the KFC BBL|10 campaign will hold us in good stead as we deliver the best possible competition for our players and fans.

“This includes supporting our clubs in their recruitment of world-class T20 players from across the globe. We’ve retained the same overseas player contracting structure as last season, ensuring another top quality group of cricketers will land on our shores and delight our fans this summer.”

Strikers Membership are set to be available in September, and general ticket availability will be released shortly.
