Another piece of the summer puzzle has clicked into place for the Strikers today with the order of selections confirmed for both the Weber WBBL|09 and KFC BBL|13 Overseas Player Drafts locked in.
Fox Cricket will broadcast both drafts back-to-back on Sunday 3 September.
Weighted lotteries were held on Friday to decide the draft order, with teams who missed out on Finals last season given priority in an initial draw, followed by the remaining Clubs in a second draw.
Reigning WBBL Champions Adelaide were therefore placed in the second draw and did not hear their name until the final pick of the process, meaning the Strikers will have the eighth pick in the inaugural WBBL draft in September.
It was a different story for the Strikers in the BBL, collecting the second overall pick in the d raft behind the Melbourne Stars.
The drafts will each feature four rounds, with Clubs required to select a minimum of two and maximum of three international players to complete their lists. The opening two rounds will follow the selected draft order as below before rounds three and four amend to a snaking structure. In a first for Big Bash cricket, Clubs are now able to trade draft picks which may change the currently stated order.
Players from across the globe are able to nominate for the draft, with further details surrounding player availability to be released in the coming weeks.
