The Adelaide Strikers are thrilled to announce the signing of quick Jordan Buckingham for the upcoming KFC BBL|14 season.
A quickly rising star in Australian cricket, Buckingham spent time with the Strikers in BBL|12 as a replacement player, and last summer was with the Brisbane Heat when they won the BBL|13 Championship.
With electric pace and elite control, Buckingham has represented Australia A on the international stage, taking five wickets in a four-day clash last August, with his selection coming on the back of consistent performances for the South Australian Men’s Team.
Buckingham is delighted with the opportunity to return to the Strikers and is excited by the prospect of a packed Adelaide Oval.
“I’m pumped to be back in the blue jersey for a full season,” Buckingham said.
“I have learnt so much in my time with South Australia and to represent the Strikers at the best ground in the world is going to be amazing.
“Thank you so much to the Heat for everything they have done for me, it was so great to be with that group last season and I am really appreciative of that opportunity. Now it is about getting ready for a huge summer of cricket, and I can’t wait.
Strikers Assistant Coach Ryan Harris said that Buckingham is a strong addition to their squad.
“We’re delighted to have Jordan on board for BBL|14,” Harris said.
“We have all seen the talent that Jordan possesses, and we know he has a bright future ahead. His work ethic and hunger to learn make him a valuable addition to the squad and someone that will contribute in ways that go beyond the field of play.”
The Strikers will have more players to announce in the coming weeks, with the BBL|14 list beginning to take shape.
