The Adelaide Strikers SA Bushfire Appeal is now open ahead of Sunday night’s blockbuster Australia Day BBL match against the Hobart Hurricanes at Adelaide Oval.
Online donations can be made directly via this page with further information about the appeal and other initiatives driven by the Strikers and the South Australian Cricket Association also available.
A silent auction has also been launched with bidding now open for signed Strikers player shirts, corporate suites and for match day experiences, including the bat flip with the captains.
SACA is also accepting donations of second-hand cricket bats, pads and gloves to distribute to communities in need. Items can be left at SACA reception until Friday 31 January or supporters can bring them to the 26 January game and drop them off at a designated station in the southern plaza at Adelaide Oval.
The Strikers’ major partner People’s Choice Credit Union opened the batting for the appeal with a $50,000 donation. They have also pledged $1500 for every six, $1000 for every four and $500 for every wicket by the Strikers on 26 January.
The Adelaide Strikers have also given 800 tickets to the CFS for Sunday’s game to distribute to volunteers and family.
The following weekend (Sunday, 2 February) Adelaide Oval will also host the ‘Bushfire T20 Showdown’, with AOSMA linking with SACA, AFL clubs Adelaide and Port Adelaide, and the SANFL to stage the event and raise funds for the SA Bushfire Appeal.
Tickets to the Bushfire T20 Showdown are on sale now through Ticketek ($20 for adults, $5 for kids and $40 for families).
