The Adelaide Strikers are an Australian professional Twenty20 cricket team based in Adelaide, South Australia, competing in the Big Bash League (BBL). Established in 2011, they succeeded the Southern Redbacks, who played in the now-defunct KFC Twenty20 Big Bash. The Adelaide Strikers are scheduled for seven evening fixtures at Adelaide Oval, in the KFC BBL|10 fixture announced by Cricket Australia today.

The Strikers men will host an exciting night-time season opener against the Melbourne Renegades at Adelaide Oval on Thursday, December 3, as well as the club’s eighth consecutive New Year’s Eve match, against the Hobart Hurricanes.

In rebel WBBL|06, the Strikers will play five broadcast matches including hosting a big weekend at Karen Rolton Oval on October 24-25 against Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars respectively.

The Strikers women will also play on the opening day of the competition on Friday, 17 October at Allan Border Field, in a rematch of the WBBL|05 final against the Brisbane Heat.

From late October, they will enter a three-week stint of matches in Sydney alongside all eight clubs, considering biosecurity, broadcast and operational requirements in the current COVID-19 climate.

Cricket Australia Head of Big Bash Leagues Alistair Dobson said:

“As the BBL approaches its tenth season, the League, our Clubs and our Partners are doing everything possible to ensure that we are set and ready to go for a great Summer of Big Bash.

“By sharing these schedules at this stage, we hope that our fans, Clubs, Players and Partners can all share in the excitement of the return of everyone’s favourite cricket competitions.

“While we know that the challenging, fast-changing coronavirus pandemic could ultimately mean revisions to the schedule, there is nonetheless a lot to like about the way both competitions are shaping up.”

SACA CEO Keith Bradshaw said:

“We are pleased with the fixture list, particularly the fact that all of our home games are evening games.

“Like Cricket Australia, we hope the fixture list will not change, but we will work with the challenging nature of this pandemic in the coming months.”

Tickets on-sale dates are yet to be confirmed.
