Danny Briggs was born April 30, 1991 on the Isle of Wight, England. He is the first and only player born on the Isle of Wight to play international cricket.

Briggs began his first-class career with Hampshire in 2009 before moving to Sussex in 2016. He had recently signed to play with Warwickshire next season.

BBL|10 will be Briggs’ debut appearance in the competition.

In 2011, Briggs became the youngest English spinner since the legendary Derek Underwood to take 100 first-class wickets.

Briggs has taken the most wickets (172) of any player in the history of the English Twenty20 Blast competition.

Second on the all-time list is another left-arm spinner, Samit Patel. Briggs has played 39 fewer matches that Patel but has seven more wickets to his name.

Briggs’ international debut came against Pakistan in a 2012 one day international in Dubai.

In domestic T20 cricket, Briggs has played 151 fixtures and bowled 3073 deliveries.

With an average of 21.35, Briggs has taken five wickets in an innings one and four wickets in an innings on three occasions.

Briggs’ best T20 bowling figures are 5/19. In first-class cricket, Briggs has a six-wicket haul and eight five-wicket performances.

Briggs is a two-time winner of the NBC Denis Compton Award, an annual award given to the most promising young player at each of the first-class counties of England and Wales.

A handy lower-order batsman, Briggs has a highest first-class score of 120*.
