This initiative was discussed during the ICC’s annual Board Meeting in Colombo this week. ACB Chairman Mirwais Ashraf and CEO Naseeb Khan attended the meeting and engaged in talks with representatives from Cricket South Africa, Cricket New Zealand, and Cricket West Indies.

At the meeting, the ACB leadership highlighted recent achievements, activities, and future plans. They also discussed potential white-ball bilateral series with representatives from Cricket South Africa, Cricket New Zealand, and Cricket West Indies in anticipation of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The proposed Youth Tri-Series featuring Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the UAE would be a notable addition to the cricket calendar, with dates and venues yet to be determined.

Additionally, the ACB is considering A-team tours to Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

The ICC leadership and attending representatives lauded the ACB and the Afghanistan team for their impressive performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
