The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is the governing body for cricket in Afghanistan. It joined the ICC in 2001, became an associate member in 2013, and a full member in 2017. The ACB is also part of the Asian Cricket Council.

Head of Senate of the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistasn, Mr. Fazal Hadi Muslimyar awarded the Senate’s Medal to ACB Chairman Mr. Farhan Yusefzai. The senate Chair appreciated the efforts of ACB Chairman in good governance, great planning, policy development and bringing overall positive reforms in the organization. 

In his remarks, the head of Senate appreciated ACB’s great management of affairs recently including organizing the seventh edition of Shpageeza Cricket League, infrastructure development, revenue generation, transparency of affairs and a strong stance against corruption in the organization. 

He added, “The Senate’s Medal and appreciation letter is awarded to Mr. Yusefzai to acknowledge his sincere efforts to bring positive reforms, develop further infrastructure and bring a culture of good governance in ACB”

The event was also attended by Acting CEO Mr. Nazeem Jaar Abdulrahimzai as well as some other officials. Mr. Yusefzai extended his gratitude to the members and head of the Senate and assured them that ACB will continue its current course towards bringing an efficient organizational culture for further development of the game of cricket in Afghanistan.
