The Bangladesh Cricket Board expresses deep sadness at the passing away of former BCB councilor AKM Shamsul Islam Babu who breathed his last in Dhaka today (Tuesday, 10 November) after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 56 at the time of his death. The Board extends deepest sympathies to the family of Shamsul Islam Babu.
A veteran cricket organiser, Babu was a member of the BCB Grounds Committee. He was the founder president of Dhaka Second Division League club Gopibagh Friends Association and was also the club’s representative in the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) of the BCB.
