The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is the governing body for cricket in Bangladesh. It joined the ICC in 1977 and became a full member in 2000. The BCB oversees Bangladesh's men's, women's, and under-19 national teams.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expresses deep sadness at the passing of former Board Member Shahed Asgar Chowdhury. The eminent sports organiser breathed his last in Chattogram today morning at the age of 83.

Shahed Asgar Chowdhury had been a key figure in the sports circle of Chattogram. A sportsman himself in his youth, he was one of the main architects of the popular  competition of the Port City Star Summer Cricket Tournament. He had served as the General Secretary of Chattogram Jela Krira Sangstha (CJKS). He had also been the President of Mohammedan Sporting Club.

The BCB extends heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the family of Shahed Asgar Chowdhury and prays for the salvation of his soul.
