To dispel all speculation about differences between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, the BCCI is set to release a friendly conversation between the two ahead of the Bangladesh Tests.

The Delhi players were filmed sitting together in a “never-seen-before freewheeling chat,” as noted by the BCCI on social media, addressing recent discussions regarding their relationship following interactions during the IPL.

A promo for the special interview between Gambhir and Kohli has been released by BCCI:

Gambhir and Virat Kohli were seen shaking hands on the field during the IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) last season, following their earlier altercation when Gambhir was mentoring Lucknow Super Giants, which included Afghanistan’s Naveen Ul Haq.

The duo had previously exchanged stiff handshakes amid verbal exchanges and had an on-field altercation during an IPL match in 2013 when Gambhir captained KKR.

However, both have repeatedly stated that they maintain a good relationship off the field and that their verbal disputes are spur-of-the-moment reactions. With Gambhir now serving as the head coach of the Indian men’s team and Kohli being a key player in ODIs and Tests, this video fosters positive vibes around Indian cricket, especially with the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy and three major ICC events scheduled during his tenure until 2027.
