Cricket Scotland
Cricket Scotland, formerly the Scottish Cricket Union, is the governing body for cricket in Scotland, based at the National Cricket Academy in Edinburgh. Established in 1908 and restructured in 2001, it became an ICC Associate Member in 1994. The organization includes three sub-associations: the East of Scotland Cricket Association, Western District Cricket Union, and Aberdeenshire Cricket Association.

This October, Cricket Scotland is celebrating Black History Month in the UK. This national celebration aims to promote and celebrate Black contributions to British society, and to foster an understanding of Black history in general.

On Monday October 30, Cricket Scotland is holding a unique event in Glasgow marking Black History month – “Barriers to South Asian Cricketers Developing through the Pathway”.

This event, which is free to attend, will involve discussion identifying why the South Asian cohort have historically not been progressing through cricket’s performance pathway, given the high numbers who play the game. Discussion will revolve around what the perceived obstacles are, and the issues that cricket – and perhaps sport in general – need to address in order to resolve this issue.

All are welcome to attend this event, the details of which are as follows:

Time: 6pm – 8pm.

Venue: The Bucket List, 59 Cambridge Street, Glasgow, G3 6QX.
