Kicking the new year off with a bang, Australian electronic duo Peking Duk will headline the night from the Great Southern Bank House Party deck, alongside Brisbane-based indie rock band Ball Park Music and house music duo KLP and Stace Cadet.

Heat fans are set to be wowed from start to finish with the New Year’s Bash to see the trio of Australian artists grace the Gabba stages for sets during the pre-game, innings break and post-game.

Brisbane Heat CEO Terry Svenson said the Heat wanted the New Year’s Bash to be an annual flagship event for the club.

“The New Year’s Bash is a new initiative for the Brisbane Heat, and we are excited to bring the event to life for the first time this summer.

“We want January 1 to be a date all Heat and sporting fans circle on their calendars each year as an event not to be missed, and we think we’ve got a great line-up of entertainment to make the first New Year’s Bash one to remember.

“What better way to kick off the new year than with friends and family and the energy of a Heat game at the Gabba.”

General Manager of the Big Bash Leagues Alistair Dobson said the blockbuster music line-up is part of the BBL’s strategy to continue to deliver new and unparalleled entertainment experiences to fans each season and to attract new fans to the game.

“The New Year’s Bash is what the BBL is all about; delivering unmatched, family-friendly entertainment that’s exciting and affordable, which the Brisbane Heat continue to deliver fans each and every season,” said Dobson.

“For BBL|12 we wanted to invest in local music acts who will boost our entertainment offering to new heights. There’s no rivalry more fierce than a Queensland and New South Wales clash, so we’re excited to be able to elevate this New Year’s Day match even further by bringing together a massive line-up of acts that are guaranteed to get everyone out of their seats.”

Tickets to the New Year’s Bash on 1 January start at $8 for kids and $22 for adults and can be purchased via Ticketek.
