The Brisbane Heat would like to thank Matt Renshaw for his efforts with the club as he shifts BBL teams to join the Adelaide Strikers.

Heat coach Darren Lehmann said while the club was naturally disappointed to lose Renshaw, his decision to move was purely on a professional basis.

“The Heat put our best offer forward to retain Matt, and while we’re disappointed to see him leave, we wish him well.”

“In the three seasons he had with us, he worked hard to develop his T20 skills and his enthusiasm was good to have around the team.”

“On behalf of the Heat, our staff, members and fans, we thank him for everything he has achieved with us,” he said.

Renshaw played 24 matches for the Heat after making his debut in 2017-18. His highest score of 90 from 50 balls came against the Strikers in BBL|08.https://www.instagram.com/p/CE-slHelh5P/embed/?cr=1&v=12&wp=540&rd=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.brisbaneheat.com.au&rp=%2Fnews%2Frenshaw-depart%2F2020-09-11#%7B%22ci%22%3A1%2C%22os%22%3A6713%2C%22ls%22%3A5314%2C%22le%22%3A5431%7D

Lehmann said the Heat was working through its recruiting process for BBL|10.

“Finalising the list has had its share of challenges but we’re pretty pleased with how things are coming together,’’ he said.

The Heat recently announced it had re-signed leg-spinner Mitch Swepson for a further three years.
