Masana Petroleum Solutions (Masana) in partnership with the Lions Cricket Union, came together to hand over school shoes and books to the Kliptown Youth Centre on Friday the 6th of August 2021.
Masana is a leading marketer and supplier of a range of petroleum products and energy solutions to customers in various B2B sectors of the economy.
Lions Cricket aims to be a catalyst brand that uses sport as a change agent, a change that improves the lives of many citizens including non-cricket playing communities. They do this through various off field initiatives and in partnership with their partners.
“We as Masana, work with partners that share the same sentiment when it comes to giving back. Just like the CGL we believe in supporting and uplifting the next generation. Masana prides itself on service excellence, and we use that across the business as well as how we approach our CSI initiatives “says Keikanetswe Dlepu, CSI Coordinator for Masana.
The mission is to empower and equip individuals from grass root levels as well as across all previously unseen or disadvantaged communities which include, elders, youth, people with disabilities and female communities. Creating a platform that adds value and sustainability in the South African economy, is a common goal that is shared between Masana and the CGL.
“Lions Cricket exists within a community full of hopes, aspirations, opportunities and challenges and hence the need to plough extensively to our communities. We are truly honoured and humbled to be welcomed by various communities, NGOs, civil society members and working with great partners like Masana” says Wanele Mngomezulu Lions Cricket Marketing and Communications Manager.
When the Kliptown Youth Program reached out to Masana they more than happy to assist and knew that Lions Cricket would be the perfect partner to collaborate with.
They collectively donated 206 pairs of school shoes, 206 string bags and 906 exercise books for the centre. “We are looking forward to partnering on many more initiatives that not only assist communities but also gives them access to the world of cricket” concludes Keikanetswe Dlepu, CSI Coordinator for Masana.
