Several top international players have registered for the foreign player draft for the upcoming 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka and Pathum Nissanka, along with West Indies’ Akil Hossain, the current number-one bowler in the global T20 rankings, have signed up for the PSL draft. New Zealand’s Tim Southee, who retired from Test cricket during the series against England, as well as aggressive opener Martin Guptill and Mark Chapman, have also confirmed their availability for the PSL 10 draft.
Despite a ban imposed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on its players participating in the PSL and other leagues, several cricketers, including fast bowler David Willey, opener Jason Roy, and later, David Malan, Sam Curran, and Tom Kohler-Cadmore, have still registered for the tournament.
Other notable players from various countries include New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell, South Africa’s Riley Russo, Zimbabwe’s captain Sikandar Raza, Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey, Bangladesh’s fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman, and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also confirmed the inclusion of foreign players like England’s David Willey and Australia’s Usman Khawaja in the draft.
The PSL 10 player draft is scheduled for January 11, though there are reports suggesting that the venue may be moved from Gwadar to Lahore.
