Cricket Hong Kong, formerly known as the Hong Kong Cricket Association, is the governing body for cricket in Hong Kong. Established in 1968, it is headquartered in So Kon Po, Causeway Bay. An associate member of the ICC since 1969, Cricket Hong Kong also belongs to the Asian Cricket Council.

Cricket Hong Kong China is a fully-fledged sport that is professionally administered by Cricket Hong Kong China and subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. With the allocation of land in Kwai Chung from the Government of the HKSAR, the cricket pitch ‘Gin Drinkers Bay (“GDB”) has commenced operation since 2018.

With 3 pitches on site (Natural grass outfield with artificial turf wickets) and cricket training cages, the GDB ground plays a key role to the delivery of Cricket Hong Kong’s Strategic Plan by providing additional pitches at all levels and particularly for the development of youth cricket and also community inclusion.

Tenders are now invited from interested parties for the enhancement of the Gin Drinkers Bay cricket ground. The objective, scope of services, deliverables and other requirements are outlined in the separate document “Tender Specifications”.

  1. A ‘two-envelope system’ shall be used for all tenders. Tenderers shall be required to submit price information and technical information in separate envelopes. Appropriate weights shall be 60% technical information and 40% price information
  2. Tender envelope title:- Enhancement of Gin Drinkers Bay Cricket Ground for cricket programs and competitions
  3. Tender submission deadline: – 15th September
  4. The envelopes should not bear any indication which may relate the tender to the Tenderer. Tenders must be placed by hand between 10am-5pm in the Tender Box situated at Cricket Hong Kong office room 1019, 1st floor, Olympic House, Stadium Path, So Kon Po, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Please be aware the office will not be open Saturday & Sunday
  5. Cricket Hong Kong China is not bound to accept the lowest or any tender and reserves the right to accept all or any part of any tender at any time.
  6. The Assessment Panel shall prepare a detailed tender evaluation report stating its final recommendations.
  7. Cricket Hong Kong China can only accept tenders from the List of Government approved contractors for public works.
  8. The Assessment Panel shall submit the tender evaluation report to the CHK Board for final approval. After Board approval, the successful tenderer shall be formally notified.
  9. The date of service commencement will be further agreed and confirmed upon the appointment.
  10. The tenderer shall not and shall ensure that his agents and employees shall not give or offer any advantages as defined under the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance to any agent or employee of Cricket Hong Kong. The tenderer is also prohibited from colluding with other bidders in this tendering exercise in whatever forms (e.g. price rigging). Any breach of or non-compliance with these clauses by the tenderer shall, without affecting the tenderer’s liability for such breach or non-compliance, invalidate his tender.
  11. If the contractor or any employee or agent of the contractor shall be found to have committed an offence under the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance in relation to the tender or the contract, CHK may terminate the contract without entitling the contractor to any compensation therefore, and the contractor shall be liable for all losses and expenses necessarily incurred by the Association as the result of such termination of the contract.
