Cricket Australia (CA) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has today confirmed reciprocal home and away male Under 19 series in 2023.

Australia will host England in a multi-format series consisting of two four-day matches, three ODIs and a T20I played across the National Cricket Campus this summer.

The six-match series begins with a four-day match at Allan Border Field on January 29 and concludes with the sole T20I at Ian Healy Oval on February 19.

The tour was originally scheduled for February 2021 but was postponed several times due to COVID-19.

In turn, Australia will travel to England in August 2023 to play five ODIs and two four-day matches.

Australia’s squad for the home series will be selected following the Cricket Australia Under 19 Male National Championships which begin today in Adelaide.

Confirmation of the two Under 19 series against England follows an expansion in the number of teams competing in the underage National Championships.

This season the ACT will again enter a standalone team in all age groups, having recently participated as a combined squad with NSW Country.

As a result, New South Wales and Victoria will both field Metro and Country teams at all underage National Championships.

Queensland Country, which participated in the 2021-22 Under 19 Male National Championships for the first time, will again compete in the 2022-23 tournament alongside the Queensland Metro team.

Matchday and squad photos will be available here throughout the tournament.

All matches will be live streamed via Frogbox and can be found here.

Sonya Thompson, Cricket Australia Head of National Development, said:

“We’re delighted to confirm a reciprocal home and away male Under 19 series against England.

“The multi-format series will provide a platform for our best young players to gain valuable international experience in both red and white ball cricket.

“Touring England is a special experience for any cricketer and this tour presents a significant opportunity for our Under 19 squad to play in different conditions against a high-quality opponent.

“We look forward to hosting England in 2023 and will continue to work closely with the ECB to explore ways in which our young players can further their development their skills both at home and overseas.”
