Cricket Australia, in partnership with Australian game developer Big Ant Studios, has announced the highly anticipated Cricket 24: The Official Game of the Ashes video game will be released this June, expanding on the Cricket 22 video game to include teams from every corner of the globe.

Cricket 24 will hit shelves in time for the upcoming 2023 Qantas Ashes Tour of the UK, starting June 16 and the CommBank Women’s Ashes Tour of the UK starting June 22.

The latest installment of Big Ant Studio’s cricket video game series offers a full complete Ashes immersion, including detailed cutscenes to put the user into the moment contextually as the Ashes tour progresses including press conferences, team training sessions and unique commentary.

Cricket 24 will also be highlighted by the sport’s biggest tournaments, including the KFC BBL and Weber WBBL, The Hundred, The Caribbean Premier League and will feature a number of upcoming professional Indian T20 teams, along with over 50 highly detailed official stadiums.

With more licenses than any cricket video game before it, Cricket 24 features more than 200 players with full photogrammetry from major cricket nations including Australia, England, West Indies, New Zealand and Ireland with more to be announced. Both Men’s and Women’s cricket will have equal representation throughout.

Cricket 24’s new features include a complete overhaul of the fielding systems, a fully cross platform to allow users to play online against friends and the world’s best players on any platform, and career mode which allows users to follow the journey of their players from club cricketer to the international stage.

For the first time ever, Cricket 24 will include Pro Team, where gamers will be able to collect their favourite players from across the world and take to the field with their own cricket dream team.

Cricket Australia Chief Executive Officer, Nick Hockley said:

“Cricket Australia is excited to once again partner with Big Ant Studios to bring such an interactive and realistic video game to cricket fans in time for the upcoming Ashes Series in England,” Hockley said.

“We’ve been working incredibly hard with cricket boards all over the world to bring what is the deepest, most realistic video game representation of the sport ever.

“I believe Cricket 24 will bring something special for cricket fans all over the world, it is the first truly global cricket video game.”
