Reporting to the Head of Financial Control, in this role you will be responsible for supporting the Finance partners through the delivery of timely monthly reporting, as well as supporting the Head of Financial Control in relation to the organisation’s key compliance requirements.

Our purpose is to unite and inspire communities through Cricket, and the successful candidate will play in integral role in maximizing the long-term sustainable revenue of Cricket Australia to drive investment in the game.

About The Role

We are looking for a hands-on finance professional who is proactive, compliance-focused and proficient is the analysis of financial risk to utilise their knowledge and expertise in this space to help support and promote the long-term growth and sustainability at one of Australia’s leading sport organisations.

Specifically, You Will Be Responsible For

Monthly Reporting

  • Produce standard monthly reporting by Department on a timely basis for Finance Business Partners.
  • Work with Finance Business Partners to identify and resolve any key issues in relation to monthly department reporting.
  • Identify and drive improvements in the monthly reporting processes including ensuring the correct classification of key items, improving the timeliness of delivery including through automation where possible, improving reporting formats and developing additional reporting as required.
  • Utilise understanding of department performance to provide commentary and analysis for the monthly organisational level reporting.

Compliance Support

  • Review and update key Finance policies annually including establishing reporting and analysis relating to policy compliance.
  • Support key banking compliance requirements including delivery of required information and documentation as required under the Funding Agreement, maintain and update account signatories, credit cards, manage term deposits, bank guarantees and account balances.
  • Provide support to Head of Financial Control in relation to direct and indirect tax requirements, superannuation compliance and manage FBT and payroll tax returns as required.
  • Maintain Finance risk profile and register of key Finance risk events.

Other

  • Provide transactional support to Finance Business Partner and Financial Accounting team in relation to key support units (Finance, P&C, Executive).
  • Provide support to key year end processes as allocated, Australian Cricket Revenue calculations and S&T recharges.
  • Support internal audit requirements.
  • Proactively drive continuous improvement in other key Finance processes.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

Qualifications

  • Business degree.
  • Working towards or have completed your CPA or CA.

Essential Skills And Experience

  • Experience in delivering efficient monthly reporting.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement in relation to reporting,
  • Exposure to a range of tax compliance requirements.
  • Experience in financial modelling and analysis including BI Reporting tools.
  • High level of proactivity, curiosity and accountability in relation to key finance processes.
  • Ability to present complex financial information and recommendations in a concise, impactful way.
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Great team player – willingness to be involved in a range of different key finance activities.
