Cricket Australia has celebrated the outstanding contribution of grassroots volunteers across the country with the announcement of the winners of the National Community Cricket Awards.

Supported by CommBank, the awards recognise excellent performance and outstanding initiatives in all areas of community cricket volunteering, club administration, officiating, participation, diversity and inclusion and program development.

Announced during National Volunteer Week, two finalists were selected in 13 categories with the nominees all demonstrating the amazing support thousands of volunteers across the game provide for their local clubs and associations.

We are grateful to our awards partners CommBank, Toyota and Gatorade who provided valuable support this season.

The winners included National Volunteer of the Year, Amanda Fraser, who demonstrated amazing leadership and dedication restoring the fortunes of the Glenorie Cricket Club in NSW by creating a diverse, inclusive and vibrant experience for cricketers and families in the local community.

Cricket Australia’s Executive General Manager of Community Cricket James Allsopp said:

“Congratulations to the winners of this year’s National Community Cricket Awards and thank you to the thousands of volunteers who remain at the heart of community cricket clubs and associations.

“We are enormously grateful to everyone who volunteers for a club or association committee, does the scoring, sorts the equipment, umpires, coaches or performs one of the dozens of tasks required to bring local cricket to life.

“Everything our cricketers achieve, from our world class Australian teams right through to community clubs, is the result of the hard work of volunteers who give thousands of kids their first experiences of the game every year and go enormous efforts to ensure quality experiences for all involved.”
