Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager in this role you will be responsible for driving awareness, consideration, and fan engagement for Big Bash League competition (men’s and women’s). Specifically, the focus is on growing our audiences of these formats and driving deeper fan experiences, ticket sales and revenue, viewership and increased passion and love of the game.

About The Role

We are looking for someone who is innovative and passionate about BBL fans needs and can apply their commercial and creative expertise to develop, lead and deliver marketing strategies that align with the BBL positioning of ignite moments that matter.

Specifically, You Will Be Responsible For

  • Engage with key stakeholders to deliver the BBL marketing plan across promotions, advertising, media, digital and PR
  • Engage with key BBL stakeholders to ensure marketing plans support club objectives and identities within the broader league and align with local area marketing activity
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing Lead (International & Participation), Media & Performance Manager to ensure alignment of plans, creative direction and communication along with monitoring the delivery and results of these activities.
  • Ensure marketing plans support business unit strategies, driving brand, attendance and participation metrics and fully align with local area marketing plans
  • Lead and serve State Marketing teams to align planning cycles, involve upfront in the strategy & planning phase of our national campaigns, alignment of campaign messaging, provide better customer insights and deliver creative and media assets and support where required.
  • Work collaboratively with the Strategy & Insights team and our Research partners to increase and share consumer insights to build knowledge across Australian Cricket and assist to manage the research program.

Leverage commercial and broadcast partner relationships to extend the impact with our campaigns.

  • Manage the development of measures of campaign success, the ongoing tracking and reporting and the completion of post implementation reviews.
  • Develop and maintain outstanding relationships and collaboration with internal stakeholders inclusive of BBL Clubs, Commercial, Digital, Broadcast, Comms & PR, Venue Business, Match Operations, Community Cricket, and Strategy.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

Tertiary Qualifications

A creative, can do, motivated and dynamic team player

A minimum of 6 years’ experience in marketing and communications;

Strong strategic planning skills, which you’ll use on a daily basis;

Proven experience in preparing marketing plans, acquisition strategies, and media;

Digital marketing experience – including knowledge of growing digital audiences through core acquisition channels i.e. search and performance marketing;

Experience in leveraging data and insights to plan campaigns;

Proven experience in collaborating, influencing and managing stakeholders;

Experience in leading, developing and encouraging a team.
