The McGrath Foundation, Cricket Australia and the SCG today thanked everyone across Australia who purchased Virtual Pink Seats, helping make the 15th NRMA Insurance Pink Test one to remember.
More than 250,000 Virtual Pink Seats have been sold, raising over $5m to help fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses right across the country with overs remaining.
McGrath Foundation Co-Founder & President, Glenn McGrath, is incredibly proud of the pink wave of support from across Australia that the McGrath Foundation receives each year at the Pink Test.
“The Virtual Pink Seats sold during this Pink Test mean we can support over 3,600 families experiencing breast cancer this year, through the work of our McGrath Breast Care Nurses. These nurses provide invaluable physical, psychological and emotional support, for free, to anyone experiencing breast cancer. The job they do is just so important.
“It’s overwhelming to think that, now in its 15th year, the public’s support for the Pink Test continues to go from strength to strength. Every person who has purchased a Virtual Pink Seat, whether at home or at the ground, has helped us make this Pink Test one to remember and we are so incredibly grateful.
“I’d also like to say an enormous thank you to our partners at Cricket Australia and the SCG; this phenomenal event would not happen each year without them,” said McGrath.
Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley is extremely grateful for the generous support given during the NRMA Insurance Pink Test.
“We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has bought a Virtual Pink Seat. All money raised will go directly towards funding McGrath Breast Care Nurses, making a real difference to the lives of families experiencing breast cancer around Australia.
“We are so proud to support the McGrath Foundation at the Pink Test each year and we continue to be blown away by the support of the community,” said Hockley.
Venues NSW CEO, Kerrie Mather is thrilled to see the way cricket fans and the broader public have embraced the Sydney Pink Test and Virtual Pink Seat campaign.
“This Pink Test has truly been one to remember. It is a highlight of the year for us at the Sydney Cricket Ground and it’s incredible to see how people come out in support of the McGrath Foundation.
“This partnership has been going strong for 15 Pink Tests and the support of the public has only grown in that time. We’re proud to play a part in helping bring the Pink Test to life.”
NRMA Insurance Acting CMO Zara Curtis said, “It’s been phenomenal to watch the support Australia has put behind the McGrath Foundation and its Virtual Pink Seats campaign during the NRMA Insurance Pink Test.
“As proud helpers of the McGrath Foundation, NRMA Insurance was delighted to make a $420,000 donation during this campaign to help more families get the support of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.”
