About The Role
We’re looking for someone to support the delivery of a world-leading talent identification and player development systems for Cricket Australia’s High-Performance (HP) system.
We want to ensure Australian Cricket continues to produce world leading players and teams. To achieve this our talent identification and player development systems are integral. We are looking for someone with a deep passion for supporting players to reach their potential on and off the field. For someone with a collaborative and curious spirit who is committed to working with our highly skilled HP staff across Australia to maximise impact.
Reporting to the Head of National Development you will be primarily responsible for player development and talent Identification. This Includes overseeing the preparation and coaching of Australia Under 19 teams and players, facilitating targeted national/international development opportunities for identified players and providing high quality coaching support to Australia and Australia A teams and players as required, including assistance with individual player case management and tour preparation on an as-needs basis.
You’ll also be responsible for leading continuous improvement of the national talent identification and management system, collaborating with State and Territory (S&T) Talent Managers and Pathway Coaches to ensure a clear, consultative, and transparent approach to talent identification and player selection and integrating data and technology to support talent identification and management.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Our ideal candidate will hold relevant tertiary qualifications (Bachelor or Masters degree) sport management, science, coaching or similar and hold relevant High-Performance cricket coaching credentials.
You’ll have demonstrated capability to develop strong relationships, influence and lead across diverse stakeholder groups and success building environments that foster trust and inclusion, enabling individuals and teams to thrive. You will have a solid understanding on the Australian and International cricket landscape and strong industry networks.
Knowledge of player development, performance pathways and skill acquisition principles in cricket will set you in good stead with a proven ability to develop relationships and initiatives that improve player, coach and system performance. Importantly, you will have the ability to translate key data insights, so they are well understood by stakeholders.
A growth mindset – curious to learn new things and explore different perspectives and a passion for developing others with energy and enthusiasm to inspire others is a MUST.
