ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic, visionary leader to revolutionise Cricket Australia’s participation strategy. As the National Growth Initiatives Lead, you will spearhead strategies to significantly enhance cricket participation and growth across diverse demographics, driving innovation that positions Cricket Australia as a leader in the sports industry. You will be a pivotal part of a high-energy team, driving initiatives that develop a strong interest in cricket nationwide. While schools remain a crucial focus, this role extends far beyond, uncovering new opportunities to make cricket the sport of choice for all ages and backgrounds. This role demands an entrepreneurial mindset, emphasising creativity, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to fostering partnerships and opportunities for sustainable growth.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Growth Initiatives, you’ll be responsible for:
– Developing and implementing cutting-edge initiatives that resonate with diverse audiences and elevate cricket’s appeal
– Exploring growth opportunities through non-traditional markets, new products/programs, and strategic partnerships
– Developing and executing strategies to grow cricket participation beyond schools, including community engagement, digital platforms, and targeted programs
– Identifying and scaling best practices within Australian Cricket
– Creating engaging school holiday programs that keep kids involved beyond term time
– Identifying and capitalising on commercial opportunities, creating new partnerships to diversify revenue streams and drive growth
– Maximising engagement with commercial partners to co-create growth-focused programs and leverage resources for impactful initiatives
– Building strong relationships with States and Territories, understanding their strategic plans and providing support to amplify their local growth initiatives
– Analysing key metrics such as school-to-club transition rates, organised school growth, participation rates, pilot success, and innovation impact to fuel continuous improvement
– Developing and implementing school engagement programs, ensuring a seamless transition from playground to cricket club
– Owning the National School Strategy, driving its execution and continuously iterating based on data-driven insights
– Forging joint initiatives with School Sport Australia and other relevant education bodies
– Driving the expansion of indoor cricket programs within school facilities, making them accessible and appealing to new participants.

– Proven track record of driving growth and innovation in a dynamic environment, preferably within sport or education
– Ability to think critically and strategically, identifying emerging trends and opportunities to position Cricket Australia as a frontrunner in sports participation
– Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and nurture strategic partnerships
– Strong focus on measurable outcomes and impact, leveraging data to drive decision making and continuous improvement
– Genuine enthusiasm for sport, education and community engagement with a commitment to fostering inclusion and accessibility
– A collaborative leader who excels in building strong relationships across diverse stakeholders, including States and Territories
