Reporting to the Principle Engineer, in this role you will be responsible for delivering an engaging user experience across Cricket Australia’s suite of digital products, from website and mobile applications.

About The Role
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the needs of our fans, participants and volunteers, who is eager to use technology to deliver innovative and engaging experiences for Cricket stakeholders. You will be working within a team that is responsible for nurturing a set of products that includes iterating ideas based on insights, and supporting in production.
Specifically, You Will Be Responsible For
- Supporting the delivery of outstanding solutions that address Australian Cricket’s needs;
- Working with team members and our partners on delivering new experiences in the digital products that your team is responsible for;
- Contributing to the development practice at Cricket Australia to ensure we continually improve our engineering standards;
- Break down barriers within the team, to ensure everyone is working together and not in isolation;
- Working with the team and contributing towards our shared goal of continuous delivery;
- Innovating and enhancing current business solutions, and recognising the areas of the systems that require changes;
- Providing technical leadership when working on projects following modern day development practices, and ensuring technology needs are balanced with the outcome objectives.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Essential
- Bachelor of Science (Software/Systems Engineering/Infrastructure).
- 5+ years’ experience in software development.
- Strong experience in HTML5, CSS3, ES6, JS frameworks (React is a must), Node/Express and related tooling system.
- Robust understanding of responsive design, browser behaviour and compatibility.
- Knowledge of optimisation techniques to improve client-side performance, good practices and industry standards.
- Experienced in developing with common open APIs such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter.
- Ability to help set up and configure local development environments including exposure to build systems such as Gulp, Grunt or Webpack.
- Knowledge of SMACSS, OOCSS or BEM concepts.
- Experience with source control (trunk based development preferable) and branch strategies preferably GIT version control system.
- Experience writing unit tests / integration test suites using libraries like JEST/ react-testing-library.
- Skills in modern software development techniques such as continuous delivery, test driven development, pair programming, etc.
- Cloud technology experience (Azure preferable).
- A desire to share knowledge and to mentor others.
- Ability to influence and negotiate.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
