We’re looking for a driven Senior Manager, Corporate Communications to join our Marketing & Communications team.

Reporting to the Head of Communications you’ll be responsible for developing and executing external-facing communications strategies and public relations activities at Cricket Australia. This role will lead the marketing & partnerships relationship on behalf of the communications team, responsible for driving external communication, corporate communication and public relations programs that are aligned to Australian Cricket strategy.

About the role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and implementing public relations campaigns, which includes integrated marketing and communications activity, management of launches and media events.
  • Responsible for delivering an integrated marketing and communications strategy, working closely with Brand and Marketing and Corporate Partnership team.
  • Build, leverage and maintain critical media and stakeholder relationships (sport, general and business reporters) across TV, Radio, Print, Wire and Digital channels.
  • Develop and implement proactive communications messaging around community relations programs to appropriately position cricket within the communities it serves, in addition to ensuring consistency and clarity of external messaging.
  • Write, develop and manage approvals for news releases, media advisories, fact sheets and related media materials for Cricket Australia, including CA commercial, media rights and Fan Engagement (Marketing, Fan Experience, Event Presentation).
  • Management of all Cricket Australia corporate collateral, including the website, annual report, strategic plan and other materials as needed.
  • Integrate CA’s wider consumer and corporate communications plan into content and social media output.
  • Extend CA’s positioning as a thought leader on specific topics, through effective story-telling using online channels.
  • Instil a team culture for high levels of engagement, teamwork and motivation


About you
You’ll have:

  • A degree in journalism, communications or marketing
  • Significant demonstrated experience in a similar complex and issues rich environment managing external affairs, corporate communications, media and reputational issues.
  • Track record of developing corporate communications strategies that deliver outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in gaining positive coverage for PR initiatives/corporate positioning that deliver commercial and organisational aims.
  • A demonstrated track record in handling complex media/crises/issues situations with television, radio and online media.
  • Understanding of storytelling principles and ability to inspire behavioural change.
  • Strong strategic thinker and thrives in a changing and dynamic meeting.
  • Outstanding collaborator and stakeholder management.
